Well, in addition to that threat, Dexter is also going to have to deal with LaGuerta, who suspects the return of the Bay Harbor Butcher when she makes a shocking discovery at the scene of a crime: a blood-slide! “That’s going to be a genuine growing threat because she will come to believe that the Bay Harbor Butcher could indeed still be out there and she sets out to prove the innocence of her dear friend Sargent Doakes,” showrunner Sara Colleton teases. “And she will be relentless, so in addition to Deb, there are a lot of threats to his security coming at him this year.” Translation: buckle up, kids!

Thank you for this post! Although I have loved hearing more about Deb’s reaction to Dexter’s secret, it is important to remember he has other threats this season. LaGuerta finding that blood slide was a bad sign for Dexter, though I have a feeling she may also ultimately suffer Doakes fate. To try to refresh on the details, a co-worker at Dish and I have been re-watching the Doakes seasons with Blockbuster @Home. I love how easy it is to order the DVDs by mail, or exchange them in the store if I don’t want to wait. It’s amazing remembering how close Dexter has come to being caught, it seems appropriate that his luck ran out eventually. Now with LaGuerta on his trail, he will have to more careful than ever, because I’m sure she’ll stop at nothing to help clear her friends name.
